The Roxbury Arts Group invites you to A Gallery Exhibit: ‘Inspired by Quilts’ Opening Reception A Drop In Art Quilting Class

You are invited to the Opening and Artist Reception for the newest exhibit in the Walt Meade Gallery – ‘Inspired by Quilts’. This group exhibit is inspired by the history, traditions and aesthetics of quilts and is expressed through mixed media, collage, photography, paintings, and stained glass. Exhibiting artists include Christine Alexander, Kacey Chuilli, Frank Manzo, Helene Manzo, Elaine Grandy, Roshan Houshmand, Margaret Leveson, Lynn Palumbo, Nat Thomas, Ros Welchman, and Bea Wolert. The Opening Artist Reception will take place on Saturday, September 20, 4:00-6:00 PM. Artists will be in attendance to meet and greet the public. Locally produced refreshments will be served. ‘Inspired by Quilts’ exhibition will be on display through November 8, 2014, in the Walt Meade Gallery located in the Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury, NY 12474.
‘Inspired by Quilts’ is a compliment to the upcoming Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame Biennial Event hosted by the Roxbury Arts Group on September 27 & 28. For those who wish to have a hand’s on experience with quilting, there will be a Drop In Art Class taking place just prior to the ‘Inspired by Quilts’ Opening. Catskill Mountain Quilter Hall of Famer Frances Archibald and Pat Cumming will lead the Drop In Art Class, on Saturday, September 20, from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Participants will create a ‘2-block Table Runner’ (14 x 28 inches) using a traditional 9-patch 2-block design.
