Improv Workshop at 76 MAIN!

Relax. Trust. Agree and Move Forward. Heighten and Explore. Be Positive. Listen. Connect. Give and Take. Be in the Moment. Don’t think. Don’t ask questions. Never be Negative. Be totally at peace without knowing what may happen next.

Are these words from a new spiritual book? No, they are the rules to improvisation. And you can learn them in an improvisation workshop led by Saturday Night Live alumna and Tony Award nominee Denny Dillon at 76 MAIN! Stamford Arts Center on Saturday, July 12, from 2-5. Class size limited. Enroll now (607) 326-7676. $35.

Improvisatioin is an invaluable communication tool, for improvisation is collaborative. It is ensemble not solo. It is about listening, giving and receiving, being spontaneous and surprising ourself and others.

The improvisation and theatre games Denny teaches were developed by Viola Spolin a foremost educator in this field with whom Denny trained and performed professionally with The Spolin Players in Los Angeles.

Denny Dillon teaches improvisation to children, teens, adults and professional actors. She has her own improvisation company called IMPROV NATION that has performed to sold-out houses in the Hudson Valley. Improvisation can be experienced by anyone. All one needs is willingness and openess to take a dive without a net. And the best part is they are FUN. The sound of laughter in the improvisation workshops is music to one's soul.
