"Railride into Yesteryear" supplies you and your family with "all the agreeable pursuits of 1898" on several Saturdays in spring and summer. You'll visit the quintessential 19th century mountain hamlet of Roxbury, just as visitors would have 100 years ago, via the historic Delaware & Ulster Railroad, departing from the Arkville station on Route 28. Forty-five minutes later, you'll be in another world, one with market carts, flower girls, vintage base ball, horse and carriage, and authentic country fare everywhere (even a Beer Garden!)
This year you can enjoy Railrides on Saturday Aug 30 and Sunday August 31 as part of Roxbury's Ninth Annual Turn of the Century Dates. Watch this space, since 2009 Railride dates will be announced soon. It's the perfect start to your summertime state of mind.
