The Roxbury Arts Group is happy to have the opportunity to offer this summer two jcamps in July for our youth, ranging in ages from 4 years to 15 years. The very popular one-week Rock n’ Pop Theater Camp returns, running from Monday July 7th thru Friday July 11th, will be led by youth educator, playwright and director Malissa Kano-White, and for the first time being offered, a two-week Dance Camp Intensive starting Monday July 14 and culminating with a recital on Saturday, July 26th, will be led by professional dancer and children’s dance instructor Victoria Lundell. Both camps will be run at Stamford Central School in Stamford, NY. Registration is now open and for more information and applications forms, please call 607.326.7908 or go online to roxburyartsgroup.org.

At Rock ‘n Pop Musical Camp, experienced children’s theater director/ playwright and educator Malissa Kano-White will lead campers, ages eight thru thirteen, through a week of training and rehearsals culminating in a musical written especially for them, followed by an encore concert they will perform in the Camp Show on Friday evening. Using her decades of experience and fueled with highly honed skills including theater, character development, directing, and vocal coaching and technique through the help of her assistant, Kano-White will lead the campers through a week of exploration, imagination, and the ins and outs of performing in a musical and in a concert.

And new to the Roxbury Arts Group this summer is a 2-week Dance Intensive Camp culminating in a recital, Saturday, July 26th, dancers will be led by professional dancer and instructor Victoria Lundell. Creative Movement is for the youngest set, ages 4 – 5 and will concentrate on free dance, balance coordination and fun. Ballet is geared for those in the age group 5 – 8 and will focus on the fundamentals and beauty of the dance, as well as build strength and fitness across the whole body. For ages 8 – 12 JazzFunk is all about fun, modern and hip-hop with a splash of theater, while for age group 12 – 15, Bring Your Moves will challenge the dancer to create and execute tasteful, skilled and fun dance moves for the entire class to learn and make collectively into a dance.
