The Roxbury Arts Group’s popular Essential Thursdays Summer Performance Series draws to end with its final installment for 2014, featuring world-renowned group The International String Trio (IST) on Thursday, August 14th at 7:30 pm. IST not only embodies musical selections from around the world including Gypsy swing and jazz, old-time Appalachian laments, traditional Irish reels, celebratory klezmer and passionate tango, but its members hail from different countries, featuring Russian-born guitarist Slava Tolstoy, British violinist Ben Powell and American acoustic bassist Greg Feingold. Ate O Ate Gourmet Food Truck will be serving dinners prior to the performance and menu plans will be made available on ateoatecatering.com. The Old School Baptist Church original wooden seats are beautiful but a little hard, so audience members are invited to bring a seat cusion. Tickets to this and all performances at the Old School Baptist Church this summer are $18 for adults and $16 for students and seniors when purchased in advance.
