Preview week – July 11th – 17th: FREE

Performances, workshops, exhibits, arts education, grants, arts advocacy, and community; the Roxbury Arts Group offers it all. To help continue their mission to bring so much to the region, RAG opens its doors to the public on Saturday, July 18, at 3 PM, for “For Arts’ Sake.” This special fundraising event features a silent and live auction of fine art, crafts, and jewelry contributed by over 70 local, regional, and internationally recognized artists. All funds raised will go to support Roxbury Arts Group and the participating artists. For the week preceeding the event, RAG will be open to anyone who wishes to preview and bid on the art.

With so many artists exhibiting in one space, “For Arts’ Sake” presents a rare opportunity to experience – and purchase – a wide variety of fine art. In addition to the visual treats, “For Arts’ Sake” also includes a luscious spread of hors d’oeuvres and refreshments prepared by Chef Paula Douralas.

For over three decades, the Roxbury Arts Group has worked to offer high-quality arts programming in Delaware County. This year alone, RAG will facilitate over 100 in-school and after-school art programs, over 300 days of performances, workshops, exhibits, and special community events at their venues in Roxbury, and the Denver-Vega Valley, and throughout the Stamford community award over $30,000 in grants to support artists and arts programs across Delaware County. “It is amazing when you consider all that the Roxbury Arts Group does,” says Jenny Rosenzweig, Executive Director “and it is through the support of fundraising and events like ‘For Arts’ Sake’ that it is possible”.

“There is truly something for everyone,” says Andrew Weiss, President of the Board of Directors. “The best part is that you have a chance to take the artwork home with you.”

At press time, a partial list of the artists participating this includes Jessica Aaronson, Judy Abbott, Shawn Patrick Anderson, Armando Aranjo, Jenny Belin, Richard Birkett, Charles Bremer, Martha Bremer, Karen Butcher, Jane Carr, Beth Caspar, Ed Cheng, Susanna Clemm, Louis D’Amico, Caitlyn Davey, Neil Driscoll, Tina Duryea, Christopher Engel, Robin Factor, Devin Fenimore, Lisbeth Firmin, Louise Fishman, Deborah Freedman, Nancy Gelman, Elaine Grandy, Robin Halpern, Joseph Haske, Kory Hellebust, Ken Hiratsuka, Doug Jamieson, Nina Jordan, Richard Kathmann, Matthais Kern, Laura Sue King, Rachel Kremidas, Hedi Kyle, Judith Lamb, David Levenson, Margaret Levenson, Helane Levine-Keating, Patrice Lorenz, Frank Manzo, Helene Manzo, Gary Mayer, Elaine Hayes, Ira McCrudden, Nancy McShane, Chris Moore, Anna Pardini, Pablo Power, Barbara Raggi, Tom Rapin, Edmond Rinnooy Kan, Gio Scotti, Marilyn Silver, Sharon Suess, Richard Tazzara, Tina Trachtenburg, Marjorie Van Dyke, Gerda van Leeuwen, William Waggoner, Linda Webb Varian, Beatrice Wolert, Ellen Wong, Carrie Yamaoka, and Peter Yamaoka.
