PRESS RELEASE
August 11, 2024
The storms on Friday August 9, 2024, damaged both public and private properties across Delaware County. Delaware County along with our local municipalities continues to clean up and assess damages while our Emergency Services Office and the local volunteer fire departments are continuing to address the needs of those effected by the storms.
As everyone continues to evaluate damages from the heavy rain, the Delaware County Emergency Services office is putting together a list of Delaware County residents that have had personal property damages to land and/or homes. If you sustained damages, even if they are only minor, please call the Emergency Services Office at 607-832-5600 and leave the following information…

1. Your name
2. Address where the damages occurred
3. Phone number(s) where we can reach you
4. Email address
5. Description of your damages

Documentation is important for any potential claims to your insurance or assistance from the state or federal governments. We suggest documenting damages with photographs that are time and date stamped if possible.
Later this week State representatives will come to Delaware County to evaluate damages. We will notify you of the date, times and location so that you can speak to them about your damages and possible programs or assistance if any become available.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR INFORMATION GATHERING ONLY AT THIS TIME AND IS IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE OF ASSISTANCE.
