NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury at the Roxbury Town Hall on the 14 day of September 2020, at 6:45 p.m., regarding the adoption of a proposed Local Law to establish residency requirements for the Office of Deputy Town Clerk. At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.

Copies of the proposed law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.

“Roxbury Residents: The regularly scheduled Roxbury Town Board Meeting to be held this Monday April 13th at 7PM will continue as scheduled however due to the Corona Virus distancing requirements, the meeting will be closed to the public and held via video conferencing. The passing of Town Councilman and former Town Supervisor Tom Hynes

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Town Councilman and former Town Supervisor Tom Hynes. Tom passed away peacefully in his home on March 20th. Tom served as Roxbury Town Supervisor for 36 years and was recently elected to continue his legacy as a Town Councilman. Tom’s contributions to this community are immeasurable! Tom was a close friend and mentor to me throughout my time as a town councilman and especially in my new role as Roxbury Town Supervisor. Our sincere condolences go out to Toms’ family. Dear Parents and the Roxbury Community, The Department of Health of Delaware County has recommended that all schools located within its borders close its doors on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. We will be using Tuesday the 17th as an emergency day and closing our doors on Monday the 16th at 3PM. We are planning to re-open our doors on Tuesday, April 14th 2020, unless sooner revoked, but it may be extended. The school building will be closed to the public except for essential personnel. All activities during this time frame are indefinitely postponed.

A meeting of the Roxbury Historic Preservation Commission was held October 18, 2019 at 10:08 at the Roxbury Town Hall. Present Commission members Doug McLaurine, Margaret Ellsworth, and Lewis Wendell. Also, present Carolynn Faraci-Clerk. Absent Michael Mathis-Chairman and Christine O’Shaughnessy-Commission Member

Lewis Wendell stated that the next eight Historic signs are in fabrication. The signs are Roxbury Cemetery, Kirkside Park, Kirkside of Roxbury Inc., Roxbury Central School, WIOX, Shepard Hills Golf Course, Public Parking lot, and Methodist Church. Lewis will be receiving red flags to place where the signs will be going. Once locations are confirmed he will call Dig Safe to make sure there are no utilities.
