HELP WANTED

The Town of Roxbury is seeking applications for the position of School Crossing Guard for the 2020/2021 school year. Eligible persons must be at least 16 years of age and must be available school days 7:30 am – 8:00 am and 2:45 pm – 3:15 pm and for early dismissals. Rate of pay is $11.80/hour. Other benefits will be discussed at an interview. The passing of Town Councilman and former Town Supervisor Tom Hynes

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Town Councilman and former Town Supervisor Tom Hynes. Tom passed away peacefully in his home on March 20th. Tom served as Roxbury Town Supervisor for 36 years and was recently elected to continue his legacy as a Town Councilman. Tom’s contributions to this community are immeasurable! Tom was a close friend and mentor to me throughout my time as a town councilman and especially in my new role as Roxbury Town Supervisor. Our sincere condolences go out to Toms’ family. Dear Parents and the Roxbury Community, The Department of Health of Delaware County has recommended that all schools located within its borders close its doors on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. We will be using Tuesday the 17th as an emergency day and closing our doors on Monday the 16th at 3PM. We are planning to re-open our doors on Tuesday, April 14th 2020, unless sooner revoked, but it may be extended. The school building will be closed to the public except for essential personnel. All activities during this time frame are indefinitely postponed.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Grand Gorge Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the Grand Gorge Fire House located at 60753 State Hwy 30 South, Grand Gorge New York 12434 for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2024. All voters registered with the Delaware County Board of Elections on or before November 18, 2019 shall be eligible to vote. Candidates for District Office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Grand Gorge Fire District at PO Box 5, Grand Gorge, New York, 12434, no later than December 6, 2019.

ON 2020 BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Grand Gorge Fire District of the Town of Roxbury, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Grand Gorge Fire District, for its consideration.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Gorge Fire Hall, 60753 St. Hwy 30, Grand Gorge NY 12434, in the Town of Grand Gorge, State of New York on the 18th day of November, 2019.

Pursuant to Town Law 105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.

That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Roxbury at Main Street, Roxbury NY 12474 and Fire District Secretary at 60753 St. Hwy 30, Grand Gorge NY 12434 where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours.
