NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury at the Roxbury Town Hall on the 6th day of November 2014, at 6:15 pm., regarding the repeal and replacement of Local Law No. 3 of 2003 by the adoption of a new Local Law that adopts New York State’s Basic Maximum Veteran’s Alternative Exemption from taxation on the assessed value of qualifying residential real property. This law is being proposed pursuant to the authority granted by Title 2, Section 458-a of the Real Property Tax Law in order to provide further tax relief to low income veterans. At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.
Copies of the proposed law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.
The proposed Local Law to Adopt the New York State Basic Maximum Veteran’s Alternative Exemption on Qualifying Residential Property re-establishes the Roxbury Town Board’s intent to protect the Town’s most vulnerable citizens.

This law is being proposed pursuant to the authority granted by Section 467 of the Real Property Tax Law in order to provide further tax relief to low income seniors. Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget for the Town of Roxbury for the fiscal year 2015 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it is available for inspection during regular business hours.
Notice is further given that the Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on the Preliminary Budget at 7:00 pm on November 6, 2014 in the Town Hall at which time any person may be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget or any item therein.
Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of elected officials are as follows: Councilman (4) $4,668 ea., Justice (2) $7,931 ea., Supervisor $14,575, Tax Collector $9,533, Town Clerk $40,203, Highway Supt. $53,279.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Grand Gorge Fire District of the Town of Roxbury, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Grand Gorge Fire District, for its consideration.
A PUBLIC HEARING will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Gorge Fire Hall, 60753 St. Hwy 30, Grand Gorge NY 12434, in the Town of Grand Gorge, State of New York on the 22nd day of October, 2014.
Pursuant to Town Law 105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
