Notice of Public Hearing – Community Development Block Grant Program

LEGAL NOTICE
Notice of Public Hearing
Town of Roxbury

The Town of Roxbury will hold a public hearing on July 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Roxbury Town Hall, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury, NY for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Town of Roxbury’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2023 program year.

The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and will make available to eligible local governments approximately $500,000 for the Current 2023 program year for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons,. The Town of Roxbury is applying for up to $500,000 in CDBG funds to rehabilitate both owner occupied and rental units for Low-Moderate Income individuals and families.

The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.

The location of hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of translation from English, those individuals should contact Diane Pickett at list 607-326-7641, at least one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements. Written comments may also be submitted to Roxbury Town Clerk, Diane Pickett, PO Box 189, Roxbury NY 12474 or townclerk@roxburyny.com until last date to receive comments July 13, 2023.

Notice of Public Hearing – ATV Law

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury at the Roxbury Town Hall, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury, NY on the 10th day of July 2023, immediately following a Public Hearing scheduled for 6:00 pm, and will be regarding the adoption of A Local Law Designating Town Highways for Travel by ATVs.

Copies of the proposed Local Law that is proposed shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.

Any and all citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing. It is the policy of the Town of Roxbury not to discriminate on the basis of disability. Notice is hereby given that the Town of Roxbury, Delaware County, New York has completed the 2022 Annual Water Quality Reports required by NYS Dept. of Health for the Roxbury, Grand Gorge and Denver Water Districts. Copies of the reports will be mailed to all water customers. Roxbury and Grand Gorge Water Customers
Important Information About Your Drinking Water
Monitoring Requirements Not Met for Roxbury Water System

Our Roxbury Water system violated drinking water requirements over the past year. Even though these were not emergencies, as our water customers, you have the right to know what happened and what we are doing/did to correct these situations. We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During 1/1/22-12/31/22 the Springs were not used for 8 out of 12 months due to a new Spring House and spring system that was under construction. Because of this, we missed taking samples and did not test for Primary Inorganic Chemicals and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water during that time. Proper testing has since been done and results were within Dept. of Health allowable limits. All Roxbury and Grand Gorge Water customers have been mailed a complete copy of the notice which is also available on the Town website www.roxburyny.com or can be inspected at the Town Clerk’s Office, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury, NY during regular business hours.
