LEGAL NOTICE FOR ANNUAL ELECTION
OF THE GRAND GORGE FIRE DISTRICT
ON DECEMBER 12, 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Grand Gorge Fire District will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the Grand Gorge Fire House located at 60753 State Highway 30, Grand Gorge, New York 12434 for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2028. All voters registered with the Delaware County Board of Elections on or before November 17, 2023 shall be eligible to vote. Candidates for District Office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Grand Gorge Fire District at PO Box 5, Grand Gorge, New York, 12434, no later than November 30, 2023.

FAIR HOUSING OFFICER
RESOLUTION #56 – REVISE FAIR HOUSING POLICY
On motion of Michael Hynes second by Kenneth Davie the following resolution was offered and adopted:
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Roxbury adopted a Fair Housing Policy on September 11, 2000; and
WHEREAS, said Fair Housing policy names the Town Clerk as the Fair Housing Officer; and
WHEREAS, said Fair Housing Policy is being revised to specifically to name the Town Supervisor as the Town of Roxbury Fair Housing Officer;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Roxbury hereby:
names the Town Supervisor as the designated Fair Housing Officer. The contact information for said Fair Housing Officer is: Town of Roxbury Town Supervisor, 56 Hillcrest Drive, PO Box 189, Roxbury, NY 12474; Telephone: 607-326-7641; Email townsupervisor@roxburyny.com

LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON 2024 BUDGET
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Grand Gorge Fire District of the Town of Roxbury, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Grand Gorge Fire District, for its consideration.
A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Gorge Fire Hall, 60753 State Highway 30, Grand Gorge, NY 12434, in the Town of Roxbury, State of New York on the 1st day of November, 2023.
Pursuant to Town Law 105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.
That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Roxbury at 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury NY 12474 and Fire District Secretary at 60753 State Highway 30, Grand Gorge, NY 12434 where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours.

Public Hearing: Tax Levy Limit Override
Town of Roxbury, New York
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury at the Roxbury Town Hall on the 9th day of November 2023, immediately following a Public Hearing on the 2024 Preliminary Town Budget scheduled for 5:45 pm, and will be regarding the adoption of a proposed Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit for Fiscal Year 2024 established in General Municipal Law §3-c. This law is being proposed to comply with subdivision 5 of the General Municipal Law §3-c which expressly authorizes the Town Board to override the tax levy limit by the adoption of a local law approved by vote of at least sixty percent (60%) of the Town Board. At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.
Copies of the proposed law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.
The proposed Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit for Fiscal Year 2024 Established in General Municipal Law §3-c establishes the Roxbury Town Board’s intent to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Roxbury.
Any and all citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing. It is the policy of the Town of Roxbury not to discriminate on the basis of disability. Public Hearing on Preliminary Budget
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget for the Town of Roxbury for the fiscal year 2024 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it is available for inspection during regular business hours.
Notice is further given that the Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on the Preliminary Budget at 5:45 pm on November 9, 2023 in the Town Hall at which time any person may be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget or any item therein.
Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of elected officials are as follows: Councilman (4) $5,885.63 ea., Justice (2) $10,199.78 ea., Supervisor $17,061.02, Tax Collector $11,381.00, Town Clerk $53,793.02, Highway Supt. $69,867.50.

Duties include, but are not limited to: ability to handle sensitive materials on a confidential basis, data processing, bookkeeping, management of court records, collecting fees, providing support to judges, reporting to New York State and knowledge of the NYS computer program system is beneficial but training will be available.
